People and culture are the same thing. This spotlight series showcases Sentra's incredible employees helping build the future of data-centric security.

Tell us a little about your yourself and your background

I graduated from high school in 2016, and went straight into Unit 8200’s MAMAS course (Empire). I spent 6 years in the army both as an engineer and a Team-Lead (as an officer).

My work there revolved around data, and it is my passion (work-wise).

Right after the army, I immediately joined Sentra as a software engineer in the data team.

Why did you choose to work at Sentra, and when did you join?

I joined Sentra in July 2022. Funny enough, despite 2 founders being commanders while I was actively serving, I first got to meet Ron Reiter, Sentra’s CTO and cofounder, for coffee. We talked and I got the sense he is building a culture I would fit in, and would love to be a part of.

What is your role and what are your responsibilities?

My role is software engineer, part of the data team. Under our team responsibilities lies the codebase for classification and analysis of the data we scan.

What advice do you have for people getting started in your field?

Be curious, and never be afraid to ask a lot of questions.

What's the best thing about working at Sentra?

There is only one correct option and it is the people. The work ethic, the talent and the passion of each and every one creates a unique dynamic that I love being part of.

Can you tell me something surprising you discovered while working at Sentra?

There are a lot of people named May born in 1998. All the best ones work here.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you choose and why?

London, ASAP!

Football, music, culture and the weather create the perfect place for me.

What's on your professional 'bucket list' that you'd like to accomplish in the next 5-10 years?

I think mainly focusing on the customer facing side. Getting to meet and talk Sentra to people is something I got my eyes on.

Later than that, oof, we'll have to wait and see.
